These courses provide a clear pathway for members looking to step onto the mats as an official for the first time, as well as current foundation referees needing to complete a course under the new rules.
ATV is also pleased to introduce the new Cadet Referee Program, creating an early officiating pathway for our younger members.
This course is provided to our Victorian Taekwondo Community free of charge as ATV recognises the vital role that officials play in our sport and are committed to supporting the growth and development of our referee community.
1. The Cadet Kyorugi Referee Course (NEW!)
Age Requirement: 12–15 years old
Overview: The Cadet Referee Program has been introduced to give 12 to 15-year-olds a jump start to their officiating journey. For the first time, young athletes can step into an officiating role, allowing them to develop vital leadership skills, gain a deeper understanding of tournament dynamics, and view the sport of Taekwondo from an entirely new perspective.
2. Foundation Kyorugi Referee Course
Age Requirement: 16+ years old
Overview: The Kyorugi Foundation Referee Course is suitable for individuals starting their officiating journey, in addition to current Foundation Referees refreshing their knowledge under the latest June 2026 WT Competition Rules.
To participate in either of these courses, attendees must meet the following criteria:
Active Membership: All participants must hold a current, active membership with Australian Taekwondo prior to registering.
Age Limits: You must register for the course that strictly corresponds to your age bracket (12–15 for the Cadet Program; 16 and older for the Foundation Course).
What to Bring: Notebook and pen, water bottle.
Please ensure you complete all online learning requirements prior to attending this course. Participants will receive course links upon registration.
Note: Spaces are limited to ensure quality instruction and practical mat time for all attendees. Early registration is highly recommended
